Yellow Jacket Club Fundraising Mailer
Designed using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop CS6.
The Project: In groups of three, my Production Design I class was challenged to come up with a fundraising piece geared towards perspective donors, abiding by all of Cedarville’s brand standards, and fulling the USPS’ self-mailer requirements. Additionally, we had to submit RFQs to local print venders, determine which would best service our needs, and then pitch our piece to the marketing department.
The Folds: Because there was no set budget for this project, my team and I decided that if we were going to use a die cut, we should adopt the “go big or go home” mentality. Out of a self-containing envelope, a hexagon packet expands via a telescoping fold. Every time a new flap is opened, two new pages of content are revealed. Once the entire piece is open, the user is holding a honeycomb-shaped piece–matching the branding of Cedarville’s athletic department. Figuring out the logistics of this piece was not easy, but it was certainly worth the end result!
