Legacy Fields

In 2016, the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation officially opened Ryan Zimmerman Field as the first in their Legacy Fields initiative. A 501(c)3, the Dream Foundation is committed to using the power of baseball to improve the lives of children and teens in the Washington, D.C. region. They are committed to renovate one youth baseball or softball field each year.

Earlier this summer, the Dream Foundation asked me to help create the new overall look-and-feel of scoreboards and monuments for new fields moving forward. They had a vision, but needed help determining the most aesthetically pleasing proportions. Additionally, they needed illustrations to be used in pitches with local community leaders.

On August 28th, the first set where officially unveiled at the dedication of Iván ‘Pudge’ Rodríguez Field in Annandale, VA. It was a delight to not only see my vector illustrations come alive as physical pieces, but to also realize I helped create a lasting presence in a community that will hopefully continue for multiple generations.
